I have always loved antiques and vintage. I am fortunate to own many pieces of vintage and antique possessions given to me by my grandparents. I have some beautiful quilts, table clothes, fabrics etc. in my collection. I want to preserve some of the images in the things that I have loved for so many years. This notecard image is from one of the fabrics I have in my collection. I will be adding other images from this particular piece in the near future. I have this listed as a “Thank You” notecard but I will personalize the notecards for you with your name or another greeting in place of the “thank you”. The set of cards I have listed are for a set of ten, but if you would like more, you may contact me and I will give you a special amount just for you! These cards would not only be a great thing to keep for yourself for a special thank you to someone, but would also make a great unique gift for Easter,Mothers Day,birthday or anytime! Wonderful note cards for spring!
When life gives you lemons…you can hang your head or do something positive to turn things around! I decided if life was going to give me lemons…by gosh I will just paint them!
Source: When life gives you lemons..
You have probably heard the saying, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. I just try to think positive as much as I can to make life easier to accept the things that go not quite according to plan. I know of a great book that can help you think positive that I would like to share with you. The book is The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. An international bestseller with over five million copies in print, The Power of Positive Thinking has helped men and women around the world to achieve fulfillment in their lives through Dr. Norman Vincent Peale’s powerful message of faith and inspiration.
Being a painter, there is one more thing I thought to do. When life gives you lemons….paint them!!

I was given this book and have read it many times. Mine is the 1960 version. The original version was printed in 1937. I keep coming back to it. Extremely valuable tips! Below is the version I was given. I’m sure if you purchase the above version you won’t be sorry!

I take photos of the paintings I do to upload to my main web site (pattitrostle.com) and photos to my Etsy shop and other places I sell paintings, prints etc. online. I am also starting to put some photos here on this blog. More often than not, I like to use my iphone to take my photos. The quality of the iphone cameras, and cameras by other companies are really improving! I have a DSL camera with a great tripod, but it just seems so much more convenient to take the pics with my iphone. This is a great tripod for you if you want to keep your phone steady while taking photos. Have you ever taken photos only for them to be blurry due to your hand shaking? I know I have. A tripod is great when you are trying to adjust the lighting for your subject. You can just keep the camera in one place and don’t have to guess if your setup with lighting etc. is correct. So much easier! A tripod cuts down on frustration and stress!! This tripod is compatible with smartphones, Gopro, cameras. This would make a great gift or gifts for someone you know! Click on the link to not only see and if you like, purchase this tripod and see other camera/smartphone accessories!

Hi everyone! Here on wordpress they have daily prompts. This is something the “WordPress People” would like for us to blog about. So….here goes!
Nervous…why are you nervous? Is it your health..finances..an important meeting you may be nervous about? There could be many things in this crazy world that could make a person nervous! Here is one thing that makes me nervous at times. Not having enough time to get everything done that I want to do! There just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day for everything. As I said before, I am an artist. I sometimes have deadlines for commission work. I do a lot of oil portraits. I am especially busy around holiday times. Sooo….how do I handle my time space to get my work done you may ask? Well I try to stay on schedule. I repeat..TRY. Haha! Sometimes things just don’t work out the way I want it to when something unexpected comes up. That’s just life! Here are a few thing that help keep me balanced. Maybe these tips will help you also!
. Schedule – -Try to keep to a schedule as much as possible
.Eat right – Keep the caffeine to a low level if possible. (I love coffee!)
. Exercise – I can’t stress this enough! Exercise can really really help not
only with physical health, but as I said in my last blog it
really helps emotionally. Just a short walk out in the fresh
air helps tremendously!
. Sleep —– If possible, try to get 8 hours of sleep. I know..that is
sometimes hard to do. Eating right and exercise helps with
. Water —– It is very important to drink, hopefully 8 16 ounces of water
daily. It is important to keep hydrated!
. Write —– Write down your nervous thoughts. This can help relax you at
a least a little, and you just may see in writing your problem
is not that big of a deal in the scheme of things!
. Visualize – Visualize a happy place! Is it a beach..a walk in the woods? Go to your happy place!
These are just a few things to help keep stress levels a little lower.
I hope you follow at least some of this advice and I wish you good health and don’t stress the small stuff!!
